Creating A Vintage Dream

Sorry to all of you vintage lovers that we haven't blogged for a week or so but we have been super busy organising and planning lots of new things for our new Buy It. Rent It. Re-Work It. sections. So while you have all been chilling at the beach with a Mr Whippy and a bag of greasy chips, we have been all work and (almost) no play here at our Vintage Deli Boutique. All hands have been on deck to plan the official launch party for our rental range, even Barnaby has popped in to help! We have been creating invites, an amazing guest list, selecting our most prestigious gowns and dealing with all of the other niggly bits of planning a party. But things are all coming together and we are on track to have an amazing night! The event will take place on the 23rd July at our Burnham Market Boutique and we are all ridiculously excited. We know this because all we've been doing is run around the shop trying to find something that WE can wear!!

Other than all of the fun of planning an event, we have also found ourselves another new intern! (how lucky are we?!) Her name is Sammy Giles. She has recently graduated from a Fashion Textiles degree at Newport University. She will be specialising in our re-worked section. Turning our not so exciting or over-worn dresses into stunning re-worked vintage dreams. We cannot wait to have her fully on board to shine her creativity all over Vintage Deli.

We hope to see you in the shop soon!
All our love

Cannes We Do It?

Of course we can! We are Vintage Deli after all and we’ve just been sent back some of the images from the beautiful Cannes Film Festival where we had some of our most amazing dresses showcased on the red carpet!

The city of Cannes is on the southern coast of France and is the perfect backdrop for the annual festival. It hosts gorgeous beaches, scorching sun and the greatest filmmakers, actors, other film artists and many, many film-buffs; a handful of which we had the pleasure to send our dresses.

Actress Anne Marie Renoir looked breath taking in our stunning turquoise 1960s tulip effect dress. With her typical Mary Quant style haircut she really did suit the outfit down to a T! Later on she changed into our Vintage Bobby Dazler evening gown for the premiere of Kassovitz and Cassell's film, and again she looked out of this world.

We also had the beautiful Charlotte Darlington wearing our hot pink 1960s Marcel Fenez dress. She accessorized it with a structured bouffant hairstyle, a chunky hot pink ring with matching earrings and a little white clutch bag. We couldn’t have done it better ourselves!

You can view all of our photos on our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/vintagedeliboutique

So until next year Cannes!

Buy It. Rent It. Re-work It.

Hello all!
We hope you're all enjoying the beginnings of summer! While you have all been sipping on your afternoon teas and licking ice creams at the seaside, we have been super busy, throwing ideas around and coming up with new ways to make shopping at Vintage Deli better for you!

We came up with the slogan 'Buy It. Rent It. Re-work It.' symbolising the three new areas of Vintage Deli. As always you can fully purchase our Vintage beauties. But we have added a re-worked section; old jeans that we have spruced up and re-worked into summer loving Vintage shorts! These will be in the shop for you to buy very soon! A great idea if we do say so ourselves.

However we feel that our real achievement of the past month is the launch of our new rental section for the more unique dresses we have. We now have a completely up and running rental service where you can hire out the dress of your dreams for three days, while paying only a fraction of the original price! We have the creme de la creme of true Vintage gowns ready and waiting for you to take them to the biggest events in town. The best part is, you will never be caught dead in the same dress twice again!
We are hoping to soon be adding a rental section to our website to make it that much easier for you. We will be sure to keep you posted on that one. So tell all of your friends about it and come and visit the shop to find out what delights we can show you.

On top of all of our other hard work, we have also managed to put together our second styling post; hoping to help inspire you with many more vintage styling ideas.

Here we have one for the daring! A beautiful 1970s handmade gown that is free flowing, giving you that completely loose, comfortable feeling while looking amazing at the same time. It is bright, fun, vibrant and full to the brim with patterns. Light and soft, perfect for festival fun! We have accessorised it with a chunky turquoise necklace, to emphasise the colours in the material and a floppy green, wide rimmed hat to keep the flowing feel continuing throughout the outfit. Colour clashing is set to be big this summer so be ahead of everyone else with this stunner!

If you would like to be kept up to date with all of our Vintage Deli happenings, please go to www.vintagedeli.co.uk and sign up to our monthly newsletter.

All our love,
A very busy and excited Vintage Deli Team

Shaping Your Summer

So, we think it is about time for us to kick start the summer mayhem. Here at Vintage Deli we have many plans to carry out over the next few months, keeping us all very busy and very entertained. We have already introduced you to the gorgeous Barnaby, who is doing really well, and now we have our old faithful Ariane back to help keep us in order! She has interned for us for the past few years now, so is an expert in keeping us in shape! We have also been joined by Fashion Promotion student Kelsey, who is interning with us for the summer. So we now have more lovely brains to keep our creative Vintage juices flowing.

Here is our first of many styling posts using vintage clothes and accessories that we have dotted around.

This outfit consists of a deep green, soft crepe material jumpsuit, which we think is absolutely gorgeous! It gives a lovely fit around the waist and has the wide legs that are everywhere this summer. It is loose fit, for sizes 10-14, length 58 inches. We have combined it with a gentle, light cream chiffon patterned shirt, size 10-12, tied at the waist to give that effortlessly stylish look. By keeping with a neutral colour palette this outfit could be worn for almost any occasion. We have teamed it up with a straw trilby hat with deep green sache to give it a daytime festival feel. This outfit is quirky and fun yet contains all the right ingredients to keep you on trend and standing out from the rest of the crowd, where ever you decide to go this summer.

Vintage Deli's Aut/Win Trendcast 2010

The Hot Summer Months are coming to a close or should I say more likely have taken a sudden halt and the current climate has resulted in a Summer/Autumn look being key right now - Carrying on the 70s Maxi Heaven Dresses matched up with fur gillets, sheepskin coats and the Winter grunge boots.

With just a few festivals left, it seems everyone we've spoken to is super excited for the coming seasons look.  The Thick Winter Knits, floral neck scarves and snake skin handbags, statement jackets and evening sparkles to play with. The Coat/Cape/Knit is a key player this A/W with a functionality and military twist. From crisp Macs to fur trimmed aviator jackets, the theme for the coming season season is Country Chic meets City Sleek. Think Patriotic, Britannia and Tartan. Studs, rivets, crests and gold trims vs. simple fine lines and a moody colour palette of mossy greens, berry reds and dusky neutrals-

Vintage Deli is a melting pot of Vintage delights which any clothes lover would relish to feast on. We offer a stock of personally selected garments, in varying sizes, shapes and prices, to cater for every fashion feeder.

KEEP AN EYE ON THE WEBSITE WWW.VINTAGEDELI.COM - WE'LL BE UPLOADING 40S COATS WITH FUR TRIMS, FAUX FUR, CAPES, 60S SUEDE LEATHER, MID LENGTHS ...THE LIST IS ENDLESS, OVER THE NEXT MONTH X
