Instagram Takeover for North Norfolk Living - Into the Wild

Vintage Deli Instagram Takeover for North Norfolk Living Magazine

The Story Behind the Pictures

Friday Morning - My Annie did the honours of being the takeover money shot - she's my money shot. My Tribal Warrior. Fearless. Hilarious & So loving.

AND then.... the control was in my hands!!!!

Feeling empowered - oh the things i could do! But NOOOOOO - Straight to food! It was lunch after all. So I instagram Storied 2 sumptuous Home Made Sausage Rolls & a slice of Chocolate Courgette Cake from Hectors Barn in Harpley - I Stupidly forgot to save the pic so it's gone into the abyss but they got thumbs up from us.

Hectors Barn is a haven of French Rustic Interiors & have an abundance of Christmas Gift ideas. In their Harpley Shop they have a cafe with delicious locally made food, healthy snacks & Norfolk Produce. They are also Annie Sloan specialists and stockists. Well worth a Visit and only 2 minutes from Happy Valley where the Insta takeover took place.

Happy Valley - A Little Background

My grandfather, Frank Coe, referred to the land that lay in the Gentle Valley between Massingham & Grimston in West Norfolk as "Happy Valley". The energy is so calming and it's hard not to feel serene here.  From what i've read recently our appreciation for this area is no coincidence and living in the forest may also be a big contributor.

Forest Bathing

Taken From Quartz Website - The Following Read Explains Why

The tonic of the wilderness was Henry David Thoreau’s classic prescription for civilization and its discontents, offered in the 1854 essay Walden: Or, Life in the Woods. Now there’s scientific evidence supporting eco-therapy. The Japanese practice of forest bathing is proven to lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce stress hormone production, boost the immune system, and improve overall feelings of wellbeing.

Forest bathing—basically just being in the presence of trees—became part of a national public health program in Japan in 1982 when the forestry ministry coined the phrase shinrin-yoku and promoted topiary as therapy.

Happy Valley Norfolk

Happy Valley is in a designated Norfolk Wildlife Trust Site with 250 Acres of Congham Heath Woodland adjoining so you can walk to the village without even stepping onto the road. It's also great for some gentle off road biking. At present we have our King Nutkin Tree Hut, Denver Rest Shepherds Hut & Tawny Hut. During warmer months we also have a Tipi, Bell Tents and Wild Camping availability. The Treehouse build is due to start in January so watch this space. You can also hire out the entire Venue for your perfect Woodland Wedding or Week long Festival Wedding like Callum & Jo's Festival Wedding this Summer.

Below - King Nutkin Shepherds Hut - Complete with a King Size Bed, Wood Burner, Kitchenette, BreakFast Bar, Fridge, Toaster, Hob and Outdoor Seating. BBQ, Firepit. Woodland Garden. Private Heated Shower & Toilet. She's our most popular destination for Couples looking for some R&R.

I posted this Picture as we're running a competition on Instagram where you can win a Weekend for 2  at our King Nutkin Hut this Winter - Dates available from mid December.  Head over to @HappyVNorfolk and Enter - Our previous competition Winners came last weekend and loved it. See our Reviews on our Facebook Page

Below - Denver Rest is a cosy shepherds hut for 2 which consists of a real Double Bed, Kitchenette, Outdoor Kitchen, Fridge, Hob, BBQ, Firepit etc. There's a private Heated Shower and Toilet with Denver Rest. We also have our Tawny Hut which sits just to left of this should you wish you bring friends or have slightly older children who'd love their very own private room. Tawny has a Super King Real Bed.

Just down the road from Happy Valley is Roydon Common. This was the scene for my next Insta Takeover Pic. This beautiful Nature Reserve is a secret gem in West Norfolk. The biggest Heath Restoration project in the UK she's unrivalled for heathland beauty, Wild Ponies & rare species.

As it's the Vintage Deli takeover I'd better give us a bit of attention.

Vintage Deli was my first Love before Bubbas and Marriage. I'm still not over it and I'm bringing Vintage Deli into our life at Happy Valley later next year.

Here's a pic of me from the first Vintage Deli photoshoot I did at Happy Valley
Photographer - Olivia French (CO)
Vintage Deli Swarovski Embellished Turquoise Empire Dress

Established 7 years ago I began trading online & then opened up in a shop in Burnham Market selling Vintage Gems from the 20s - 80s. A Vintage Lover from an early age, I only ever wore my mums Vintage pieces.  I love the eco credentials recycling Vintage Clothing brings along with sensational stories and tailoring behind each piece. They evoke so much emotion in me.

After having  a break from selling Vintage when I had Annie those Vintage urges are now returning at speed. I've a whole barn full of beautiful pieces in need of their perfect partner.

Below is the Instagram Guru Ali Dover wearing a Vintage Liberty Dress from our little Vintage Deli Barn.
This beautiful shot was taken by another Insta Queen Hollie Evans - aka FloraFairweather

This love of vintage fashion has naturally led me into Styling and i've been lucky enough to work with some super talented creatives for a number of Magazines.

The Next Insta Pic

I popped into Pia Plums in Grimston last week to help her with a little Styling as she's venturing into Wedding Prop Hire and by gosh she has some fantastic offerings.
The Moroccan Lanterns were a favourite. Vintage Wedding Dress from Vintage Deli.

 Insta Takeover - Fashion

My most recent Shoot for North Norfolk Living was just a few weeks ago Styling Winter Fashion.
Ben & Caroline Marten of the beautiful Ingoldisthorpe Hall aka Mount Amelia Hosted our Shoot and what a beautiful Venue it is. For more information on this Venue contact Unique Norfolk Venues.
The Clothes I got to see the morning of the shoot & I was over the moon to discover some fantastic pieces to work with from varying North Norfolk Boutiques. The lovely Sophie from Rejuvenate at The Bull Pen was our Hair & Make Up Stylist for the day. Tim Steele the Photographer. Catherine Monk and Rachael Crowe our beautiful models. We had a great team and I was buzzing to start.

A Few of My Favourites include this one of
Catherine Monk Modelling Christmas Party Pieces
Hat from Artemis Antiques - Dress & Bag Allez Chic - Jewellery is from Rocks & Rubies
Incredible Wild Christmas Wreath made by Kate Bagnall Oakley at Mock Orange

Below - I was instantly taken with this stunning skirt from Nelle DK so I matched it with a silk slip Nightie from Pollard and Read in Holt - Clutch from The Tannery - Earings from Urban Armour in Burnham Market and necklace from Rocks n Rubies in Heacham

My final pick was inspired by the 70s, Wilderness, Faux Fur, Layering, Tassels & Metallic
I'm so pleased to get all these Norfolk Gems in this one picture as they are well worth a visit if you're ever in North Norfolk -

The Leopard Print Wrap is from Ginger & Duck, Jumper - Nomad & The Bower Bird, Trousers & Tassel necklace Nelle DK. Clutch & Short Necklace Allez Chic, Leaf Necklace is from Lime Green. Ring is from Fineline Frames & Gallery. Boots Fairfax & Favor at Christopher William Country and Vase from the Red Dot Gallery

The Wild is a big inspiration for me. Forever drawn to unusual Textures & Colour Combinatons,  Tribal living, Wilderness & Nature.

The fact that North Norfolk Living are also huge Nature Lovers and produce a wonderful Free Magazine in North Norfolk it was a great pleasure to take over their Instagram Feed for the Day.

Androgynous Beauty

This is boyfriend chic at its best!

We love the androgynous trend this season. Boyfriend blazers, tuxedos, wide leg trousers matched with crisp white shirts, we just can't get enough of it all! And apparently neither could Katy Perry on last night's XFactor!

We adore how she's glammed this boyish trend up with her pink, vintage inspired hairstyle and stunning pink lipstick combined with her striking dark eyes. She has even thrown in a glitter ball microphone! She couldn't be further from looking masculine while keeping perfectly with the current androgynous trend!

Here at Vintage Deli we have plenty of Vintage beauties that you could choose from to keep up to date with this amazing trend. Like this gorgeous Vintage Tux Suit and Tux Blazer!

Take a look at our website or come and browse our Burnham Market Boutique to see what androgynous gems you might find amongst our collection of blazers, shirts, ties, bow-ties, bowler hats and more!

Keeping Cosy At Vintage Deli

So Autumn is now officially upon us and after those glorious few days at the beginning of October we're really feeling the chill. But we're not complaining just yet. Here at Vintage Deli we love the season changes because it can only mean one thing... a whole new wardrobe! We've been finding out our fur coats and our wooly jumpers with much joy. Our Boutique is currently adorned with lots of cosy hats, scarves, gloves and anything snuggly that we think you might enjoy. Our jumper box is overflowing with the chunkiest knits you could image and with a very chilly November on the horizon, we think they're going to be much appreciated. Take a look at our Winter Holidays section of the Vintage Deli Website to see what you can find to keep you warm this winter. Here are just a few of our favourites right now!

Mixing It Up For A/W 11

The Team at Vintage Deli are sad to see the end of summer drawing ever closer. We feel we were slightly cheated out of the scorcher we hoped for (But there may still be time!). We've had lots of rain, lots of wind but, as cheesy as it sounds, loads of fun! And even though we'll miss the festivals, electric fashion, BBQs and beach fun, we are definitely excited about the prospect of Autumn/Winter!

Autumn in my opinion, is the best time of year. Clear skies and crisp weather really do it for me and the autumnal colours are just gorgeous!! Expect to see lots of country inspired fashion this coming season. Think tweeds, leathers, feathers and wools in an array of natural browns, greens and beiges.

Mix and match pieces too!
We want to see sequins with fur, with polka dots, with leather, with tartan, with chunky knits! It's all about imagination and having the confidence to try out new looks and styles. A/W 11 is looking pretty fun to us right now!

Here is one of our styling ideas to get your juices flowing. Add some thick woolen tights and leather boots for a sophisticated, on trend style!
Light Mink Crop With Red Polka Dot
Day Dress And Feather Embellished Hat

Trends are also going to be looking towards 60s Chic and 40s Elegance for A/W 11 so make sure you come to our Burnham Market Boutique or visit our online boutique to guarantee yourself those original vintage beauties that will keep you on trend and stylish throughout the coming season.

Also, check out Vintageshops online to find the best Vintage stores around! Simple!

Are You Ready For This Jelly?

It's August! Hurray!

We are finally experiencing some more of that scorching weather that the summer began with and we are loving it! Hopefully all of you are too. The sun is meant to be here to stay all week and let's hope it lasts the weekend, because we all know what's on the horizon don't we?! Jelly Festival of course!

We just can't wait. Vintage Deli will have a stall at the festival, with loads of gorgeous garments and bits and pieces for you to buy. We will also have our brand new vest tops for sale there! We have collaborated with local graphics/T-shirt designer Botscene to design and produce some really cool and quirky Tees that we absolutely love and we hope you will too. We have taken inspiration from both sides to cook up some brilliant designs that depict certain aspects from both companies in a really fun and original way. We are so proud of them. It has been a long process of drawing up designs and modifying them again and again until we found something that we were all completely happy with and we are so glad it has actually come together so that we can see the final product. But we are more excited to see what you guys all think of them! We will have pictures on here soon for you to see and leave some feedback on. It would be great to know all of your thoughts.

We are currently selling Jelly Festival tickets in our Vintage Deli Boutique so make sure you come in and get yours! They are for this Friday 5th and Saturday 6th August. Teen tickets are for those of you who are 13- 17 and cost £25 for the weekend and Adult tickets are £40 for the weekend. If you wish to pay by card there will be a £1 booking fee per transaction.

We cannot wait to see you there!!

Tomorrow is the day we've been working towards for the past couple of months and after much planning, organising, selecting and tweaking we think we are all ready for the launch of our rental range!! Loving The Stunning Sixties Scene

What a glorious day it is today in sunny Burnham Market! The perfect start to the weekend.

And is there a better way to ease yourself into it than by relaxing in the garden, at the park or beach with a nice magazine and a cold beverage? We think not! Even though, sadly we can't join you just yet, we have been browsing the glossies and keeping up to date with all the current trends and guess what? Sixties are back on the scene! Where the summer is all about the stunning seventies, we are moving back a decade into the sassy sixties for autumn/winter 11/12. How do we know this? Well we can't go against what fashion bible Vogue say now can we?

Take your inspiration from fashion icons like Twiggy, Mary Quant and Julie Christie to get that perfect sixties look and be ahead of the game for next season. Come into our Burnham Market Boutique and have a shop around to see what sixties specialities we have. Or if you can't make the trip, then get yourself online to browse our website! We promise there will be a lovely selection of cute shifts, graphic-prints, and gorgeous footwear for you to choose from.

Below you can see the Sixties Jean Paul Gaultier dress on the catwalk against Vintage Deli's 60s style Maude Jackson printed shift.
